Our group was set up in 2007 with the objective of providing an environment in which like-minded, retired people can meet socially for a chat and a cup of tea; or if so desired join in the various games that are arranged e.g. dominoes, cards, bingo, quizzes and beetle drives.
Often, guest speakers are invited to address the group. To date we have had presentations on topics such as flower arranging, policing in the community, fire safety, origami and pottery.
Approximately 30 people attend on a regular basis; a cover charge of £1 enters you into a raffle and refreshments are included. We are always open to suggestions on topics that might be of interest to the group, or any other subject matter that would benefit the group in terms of knowledge or entertainment.
The group meet fortnightly on Tuesdays at 1.30pm and the session lasts around two hours. The venue is the Parish Room situated at the rear of the church as you enter.
Anybody is welcome to join us irrespective of gender or creed. If you would like further information you can attend any of the sessions or alternatively contact Margaret Grealis or Fred Moss.
